[영혼의 오아시스] 곪은 상처의 치유

온 땅이
갈라진 상처의 피고름으로
비명을 지르고 있다

이슬람교와 기독교,
흑인과 백인,
좌파 정치 세력과 우파 정치 세력의
불신과 증오의 총탄이
세계의 여기저기서 터지고 있다

갈등과 충돌의 소용돌이 속에서
온 세상 사람들이
슬픔과 고통으로 몸부림치며
침묵하는 신을 저주하거나 원망할 때

뭇 사람의 침과 돌팔매를 맞으면서도
그들에게 소망과 구원의 빛을 주기 위해
십자가에서 피 흘린 예수는
속삭인다

“너희는 사랑과 용서의 DNA가
잠자고 있으니
서로의 상처를 치료하기 위해
날마다 내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마셔라”

The Healing of Festered Wounds

The whole earth
Is screaming
With the pus of its split wounds.

The bullets of distrust and hatred
Between Islam and Christianity,
Black and White,
Left-wing and right-wing political forces,
Are exploding everywhere around the world.

When amid the whirlpool of conflicts and clashes,
People all over the world
Curse or resent the silent God
Writhing in sorrow and pain,

Though spat on and pelted with stones by the crowd,
Jesus, who bled on the cross
To give them the light of hope and salvation,
Whispers:

“Since the DNA of love and forgiveness within you
Lies dormant,
Eat my flesh and drink my blood every day
To heal each other's wounds.”
